The overall goal of this pilot study is to assess the acceptability and feasibility of a multicenter randomized trial of the intensity of oral antibiotic treatment for outpatient pulmonary exacerbations (oPEx) in children with cystic fibrosis (CF).

ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT04608019

Study Overview

This is a multi-center, randomized open-label pilot study designed to evaluate the acceptability and feasibility of a multicenter randomized trial comparing aggressive antibiotics (increased airway clearance plus initiation of oral antibiotics for 14 days) versus tailored therapy (increased airway clearance alone, with addition of antibiotics for worsening symptoms, or failure to improve by day 7) for oPEx treatment in children with CF.
